September 18 – 22 is National Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week.
TDM Week is designed to raise awareness of the importance of safe and reliable travel options for all users in the transportation planning process and to encourage employers to adopt TDM practices that help reduce the carbon footprint of their employees’ commutes. TDM strategies may include employee subsidies for the use of transit and vanpools, preferred parking for carpoolers, flextime, telecommuting, and similar measures. These benefits can help businesses and local governments compete for talent, reduce roadway demand during peak hours, and help make our communities cleaner and greener.
