PennDOT has announced that Washington Avenue will be closed and detoured between Sycamore Street and State Street in Newtown Township and Newtown Borough, Bucks County on Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for repairs to the bridge over Newtown Creek. Crews will repair the concrete bridge deck and sidewalks.
During the operation, Washington Avenue through traffic will be detoured over Sycamore Street, Centre Avenue and State Street.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
