TMA Bucks To Receive Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Funding!

We are thrilled to announce that we are set to receive $102,029 through the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) which provides funding for projects and activities defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, trails that serve a transportation purpose, and safe routes to school projects.

The specific funding TMA Bucks will receive will further traffic safety education in grades K-8 with a core focus on elementary aged children in Bucks County. It will offer schools the option to host fully customizable assemblies and events for their students at no charge to them. We will present transportation safety related topics, primarily focused on bicycles, using props and guest speakers to give a more relatable and educational experience for the students.

“This funding will further our strong efforts in providing potential life-saving traffic safety education throughout the Bucks County school system,” explained TMA Bucks executive director Stephen Noll. “It will provide more resources to enhance the outreach and messaging.”
