The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced that I-95 southbound is scheduled to be reduced to a single lane in the vicinity of the Scudder Falls Bridge during three overnight periods this week.
The single-lane travel restriction is needed for the clearing and hoisting of trees off a river island that will be affected by upcoming construction of the Scudder Falls Replacement Bridge.
When in effect, the scheduled single-lane travel pattern will begin near the Bear Tavern Road/Route 579 interchange (Exit 2) in Ewing, N.J. and continue to the southern end of the bridge in Lower Makefield, PA. The times and dates will be as follows:
- 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11
- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12
- 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, to 6:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13
Motorist impacts – if any – are expected to be minor because the single-lane travel restrictions will be in place when traffic volumes are at their lowest levels.
The scheduled restricted travel periods are subject to change due to weather, emergency, and traffic considerations. Motorists should reduce their speeds whenever traveling through designated work zones.
