As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, TMA Bucks has been notified by SEPTA Government Affairs that SEPTA is providing a one (1) year extension for all Senior Key ID Cards that will expire in 2021. SEPTA is also providing a second one-year extension for cards that expired in calendar year 2020.
- Senior Key Cards with a 2021 expiration date will now be valid through the end of the month printed on the card in 2022. For example, cards with a May 2021 (5/21) expiration date will continue to be valid for travel through May 2022.
- Similarly, Senior Key Cards with a 2020 expiration date will now be valid through the end of the month printed on the card in 2022. For example, cards with a May 2020 (5/20) expiration date will continue to be valid for travel through May 2022.
Letters will be sent monthly advising holders of expiring cards that their cards will be extended for one full year.
New Senior Key ID Applications:
SEPTA continues to work through ongoing challenges related to a serious malware attack that has disabled a number of Information technology systems, including the web portal that legislative offices use to sign-up Seniors for the SEPTA Key Senior ID Card. SEPTA knows how important this program is to your constituents and greatly appreciates your patience as SEPTA works to harden our IT infrastructure and restore functionality.
In-person applications for new Key Senior and Reduced Fare Cards continue to be taken each weekday at SEPTA headquarters for the time being. To maintain proper social distancing, appointments must be scheduled in advance (walk-ins will not be accepted).
