SEPTA has announced in preparation for further expansion of the SEPTA Key, fare inspection at turnstiles will be expanded to weekends at Jefferson Station between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. starting Saturday, January 12. This will build on a pilot program for weekend fare inspection that started in November at Suburban Station.
Between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekends at Jefferson Station, customers must present one of the following prepaid fares for inspection to the SEPTA Key Fare Collection Ambassadors at the turnstiles before proceeding to the train platform:
- SEPTA Key Card
- SEPTA Key Senior Card/Current driver’s license with magnetic stripe
- SEPTA Key Reduced Fare Card
- Legacy Magnetic Stripe SEPTA Pass
- SEPTA Regional Rail Ticket
Please Note: During major events at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, such as the Philadelphia International Auto Show and the Philadelphia Flower Show, weekend fare inspection hours are likely to be extended.
Customers with cash should purchase a ticket at the Jefferson Station Sales Office before going to the fare line at the turnstiles. The Fare Collection Ambassadors will not punch or collect tickets; customers will still give tickets to the conductor on the train.
