Safer13.com recently provided an update on progress being made this spring on the Route 13 Improvement Project.
Route 413 to North of Bath Road
- Traffic is currently shifted into the newly reconstructed right lanes in each direction.
- The contractor has completed full depth asphalt paving in the left lanes in each direction from Rt. 413 up to Bath Road. They have also installed new grass medians with mountable curb.
- The contractor is currently grading for sidewalk and curb from Bath Road to Commerce Drive.
- Permanent traffic signal improvements are being installed at Bath Road.
- The contractor will reconstruct the Bath Road intersection later this spring.
North of Bath Road to North of Beaver Dam Road
- Traffic is currently shifted into the newly reconstructed right lanes in each direction.
- The contractor has completed full depth asphalt paving in the left lanes in each direction and installed new grass medians from Bath Road to 5th Avenue.
- The contractor is preparing to install mountable curb for grass medians from 5th Ave to North of Beaver Dam Rd. Once curb installation is complete this area will receive an asphalt overlay. This area is expected to be complete early this summer.
North of Beaver Dam Road to North of Green Lane
- The contractor has completed full depth asphalt paving in the left lanes in each direction and installed new grass medians from Beaver Dam Road to the Turnpike ramps.
- The Green Lane intersection will be reconstructed in quadrants while maintaining traffic on Rt. 13 and the Turnpike ramp. This work has begun and is expected to be complete the end of May.
- Permanent traffic signal improvements are also being installed at Green Lane.
- A multi-use trail is being constructed from the Green Lane intersection to the Delaware Canal Towpath north of Green Lane.
