PennDOT has advised it has extended the required completion date for the Route 13 Improvement Project from July 1, 2016 to October 10, 2016 as a result of unforeseen conditions encountered during the past two construction seasons that have negatively impacted the project schedule.
Safer13.com says at this time all work has been substantially completed on the northern half of the project from north of Green Lane to the Levittown Parkway.
The contractor is currently working in the southern section of the project from Route 413 to north of the intersection at Green lane. The right lanes and shoulders have been reconstructed in this area and new curbs and sidewalks have been installed.
Traffic was recently directed onto the reconstructed right lanes in each direction in order to allow the contractor to start reconstructing the left lanes and install the new grass median in the southern section of the project.
This work is scheduled to finish by October 10, 2016.
