Roundabout Safety Improvement Project To Restrict Easton Road In Doylestown Township

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | May 2nd, 2024

PennDOT District 6 says that construction will continue on a project to improve safety by constructing roundabouts at the intersection of Easton Road and New Britain Road/Sauerman Road in Doylestown Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

Wednesday, May 15, Easton Road will be reduced for 24 hours to one lane at the intersection with New Britain Road/Sauerman Road. During the lane closure, motorists will be directed to use Sauerman Road, Edison Furlong Road, and Route 611 (Easton Road).

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this safety improvement project, PennDOT will construct two adjacent single-lane roundabouts at the bifurcated intersection of Easton Road and New Britain Road/Sauerman Road. The roundabouts will include new drainage and sidewalks; ADA-compliant crossings; bicycle facilities, lighting, and full-depth pavement reconstruction.
