PennDOT To Replace Main Street Culvert Over Wertz Creek In Sellersville Borough

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | May 23rd, 2017

Construction is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 30, to replace the structurally-deficient Main Street culvert over Wertz Creek in Sellersville Borough, Bucks County. PennDOT says the new bridge is expected to be completed in September.

Over the next three months crews will work to replace the existing concrete arch culvert with a new precast concrete box culvert.

During the operation, Main Street will be closed between Longwood Avenue and Twelfth Street. Main Street motorists will be detoured over Route 563 (Ridge Road), Lawn Avenue, Route 309 (Sellersville Bypass) and Route 152 (State Road).

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

Built in 1937, the one-span culvert is 19 feet long and 47 feet wide. The structure carries about 6,044 vehicles a day.
