PennDOT has announced that the bridge carrying Street Road over Curls Run in Solebury Township, Bucks County, has reopened.
PennDOT’s contractor rehabilitated the bridge by removing and replacing the existing arch fill and pavement, and reconstructing the stone masonry barriers, spandrel walls and wing walls along the right side of the bridge, which was damaged earlier this year from vehicular impact. The remaining stone masonry features were cleaned and repointed.
Built in 1860, the one-span, stone masonry arch bridge is 13 feet long and 18 feet wide. The structure carries 1,300 vehicles a day.
