PennDOT Reopens Route 113 (Souderton Road) Bridge Over Mill Creek In Hilltown Township

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | March 15th, 2018

PennDOT has officially reopened the bridge carrying Route 113 (Souderton Road) over Mill Creek in Hilltown Township, Bucks County following the completion of a rehabilitation project.

PennDOT’s contractor worked since January to rehabilitate the bridge by removing the existing fill material, including the wearing surface, and replacing it with lightweight concrete and a deck slab; installing new vertical wall barriers; repointing the masonry of the arch stones; and upgrading safety features.

Built in 1870, the single-span stone masonry arch bridge is 11 feet long and 25 feet wide, and carries an average of 10,673 vehicles a day.
