PennDOT has announced it has reopened Route 32 (River Road) between Walters Lane and Point Pleasant Pike in Tinicum and Plumstead townships, Bucks County following the successful removal of the temporary bridge at Point Pleasant.
Route 32 (River Road) was closed to traffic on April 4 to allow crews to safely remove the temporary bridge that was built to carry motorists during the construction of the new Route 32 (River Road) over Tohickon Creek.
Construction began in December 2013 to build the newly opened, two-span, precast, concrete-arch structure. The new bridge is adorned with an aesthetic stone finish on the support abutments and wing walls. It is 160-feet long and 37-feet wide. It has two 11-foot travel lanes, a six-foot-wide sidewalk adjacent to the northbound travel lane and three-foot shoulders.
