PennDOT Announces Start Of Route 309 Safety Improvement Project In Richland Township & Quakertown Borough

PennDOT District 6 said that construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 17 on a project to install Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) systems at 17 intersections along Route 309 (West End Boulevard) and several adjacent roads in Richland Township and Quakertown Borough, Bucks County.

In addition to the signal improvements, ADA curb ramps and pedestrian signage will also be added at each intersection.

On Monday, December 17, through mid-January, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 309 (West End Boulevard) between Rich Hill Road and Mill Road for survey operations.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

The entire project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021.
