PennDOT District 6 invites the public to attend an open house plans display to learn about the proposed project to reconstruct the U.S. 202 and Route 179 Intersection in Solebury Township, Bucks County.

The purpose of the public meeting is to update the community on the proposed project and to gather comments and feedback. The meeting will be conducted as an open house where citizens will have the opportunity to circulate among the subject displays to gather information and discuss the different facets of the project with PennDOT’s design team.
A virtual public meeting for the project was held on Tuesday, June 9. The recording of the meeting can be found here and on the U.S. 202 and Route 179 Roundabout Project webpage. The public can also provide feedback using the online comment form.
The project is located along U.S. 202 (Lower York Road) at the intersection with West Route 179 (Bridge Street) and Kitchen Lane.
The U.S. 202 and Route 179 Roundabout Project will include the replacement of the existing signalized intersection. The existing intersection will be realigned and reconfigured into a single lane roundabout, including a northbound bypass lane to Route 179. The proposed roundabout conversion will increase intersection safety and efficiency by reducing the number of conflict points, reducing the frequency/severity of crashes, and alleviating area congestion. The project results in a Section 4(f) De Minimis Use to the Solebury Gateway Trail. This meeting is also seeking public comment on the project’s use of the trail.
