New Detour Routes On Pennsylvania Side For The Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project

I-95/I-295 News, Road Work Updates | March 28th, 2018

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced that westbound travel will be prohibited on Woodside Road from Taylorsville Road to just beyond Clearview Drive in Lower Makefield Township for a little more than a month starting Monday, April 2.

The travel restriction is needed to allow for execution of a stepped-up series of construction activities that will widen and improve Woodside Road immediately west of its intersection with Taylorsville Road. This work is a small facet of the 4-1/2-year-long Scudder Falls Bridge Replacement Project and will involve drainage, extension of a water line, installation of curbing and milling and paving.

The westbound Woodside Road travel restriction will affect residents and job commuters from Lower Makefield, Upper Makefield, Newtown and points west. It also will affect golfers who use the thoroughfare to access the Makefield Highlands Golf Club from the I-95/Taylorsville Road interchange (Exit 51).

Travel Impacts – Woodside Road Westbound

  • From April 2 through May 1 – Two detours will be posted at the Woodside Road/Taylorsville Road intersection, directing westbound Woodside Road traffic to use either Mt. Eyre Road to the north or Dolington Road to the south. This detour map is posted HERE.

The aforementioned scheduled travel restriction is subject to change due to weather, emergency, traffic, and equipment/materials mobilization considerations. Motorists are urged to allow extra time to reach their destinations, and to reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling through project work areas.
