PennDOT District 6 says U.S. 1 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at night the week of February 4 from Rockhill Drive to Old Lincoln Highway for setup of a new long-term traffic pattern on a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.
The lane restrictions will be in place Monday, February 4 through Friday, February 8 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning so crews can perform line painting operations and install temporary barrier that will separate southbound and northbound traffic during construction.
The new pattern, which will provide two through lanes in both directions plus a right turn lane for access to properties within the work zone, will move all traffic to the right (west) for approximately two years of construction of improvements on the northbound side of U.S. 1 and the ramps to and from Route 132 (Street Road).
The northbound side of the temporary pattern is tentatively scheduled to be set up during nighttime lane restrictions planned on Monday, February 11 through Friday, February 15 from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. The schedule is weather permitting.
