PennDOT District 6 says Interstate 95 and Interstate 295 motorists will encounter double lane closures in both directions the week of October 15 between the Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges for construction activities on a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 and I-295 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County. The planned work schedule is:
- Monday, October 15, through Friday, October 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, northbound I-95 and eastbound I-295 between the Route 132 (Street Road) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges for paving and subbase installation.
- Wednesday, October 17, through Friday, October 19, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, westbound I-295 and southbound I-95 between the Route 413 (Bristol) and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges for pavement joint repair.
In addition, single lane and shoulder closures will be in place on northbound and southbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Pennsylvania Turnpike interchanges on Monday, October 15, through Thursday, October 18, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM for guide rail installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 and I-295 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 and I-295 corridor in Bucks County.
