We are pleased to announce that the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission Board has recently approved our “Middletown Township Travel Demand Management (TDM) Plan” through the Travel Options Program (TOP).
We will work with Middletown Township officials to develop, prepare, and adopt a Travel Demand Management plan/policy designed to actively reduce VMTs to, from, and within the township through voluntary participation.
This plan/policy would be the first-ever for the County of Bucks.
“A municipality’s participation in a Travel Demand Management (TDM) plan demonstrates a proactive commitment to reducing congestion, improving safety, expanding transportation choices, and enhancing quality of life for residents, employees, and visitors alike,” explained TMA Bucks executive director Stephen J. Noll. “By embracing smarter transportation strategies, communities can create more sustainable, connected, and economically vibrant places for generations to come.”
We were also approved to be a subcontractor for the Clean Air Council’s “Regional University TDM Toolkit & Case Study TDM Plans” project that seeks to address regional TDM issues on campuses through a University TDM Toolkit, and present case studies with specific TDM plans for three colleges, one in Bucks, Delaware, and Philadelphia Counties.
The Travel Options Program (TOP) funds projects that will provide better access to and awareness of more travel options in the DVRPC region, such as walking, biking, and taking transit. The goal is to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles on the region’s roadways–a practice otherwise known as Transportation Demand Management (TDM).
