PennDOT District 6 says that bridge repair will begin in January 2026, on the structure that carries Route 232 (Second Street Pike) over a branch of Neshaminy Creek in Northampton Township, Bucks County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Tuesday, January 6, through Friday, January 30, Route 232 (Second Street Pike) will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Twining Road and Sacketts Ford Road. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 332 (Newtown Richboro Road/Richboro Road), Newtown Bypass (Route 413/Route 532), and Swamp Road.
Local access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The single span, one-lane, Route 232 (Second Street Pike) bridge over a branch of Neshaminy Creek was built in 1936. The bridge is 14 feet long, 25 feet wide and carries almost 6,000 vehicles per day.
