Aquetong Road Bridge Closed Indefinitely In Solebury Township

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | June 28th, 2019

PennDOT District 6 has announced that the bridge carrying Aquetong Road over a branch of Branch of Aquetong Creek in Solebury Township, Bucks County, is closed indefinitely due to serious deterioration of the stone masonry wingwall.

Aquetong Road will be closed just east of Route 263 (Upper York Road) until PennDOT engineers can examine the structural damage and develop a plan to repair the bridge.

During the closure, Aquetong Road motorists will be detoured over Route 263 (Upper York Road), Street Road, and U.S. 202 (Lower York Road). Local access will be maintained up to the bridge closure.

The stone masonry arch bridge was originally built in 1850. It is 11 feet long, 18 feet wide and carries an average of 1,760 vehicles a day.
