
TMA Bucks celebrated our 17th Annual Meeting at Parx Casino East in Bensalem on Friday, June 3.
The event opened up with our scholarship presentation as five Bucks County high school seniors who plan to pursue a course of post high school study in civil engineering, urban planning, transportation management or other related field were awarded scholarships from the TMA Bucks Foundation Scholarship Fund. This year’s recipients were:
- $1,000 TMA Bucks Foundation Scholarship
Meghan Baldwin – Bucks County Technical High School
Attending Penn State University - $1,000 TMA Bucks Foundation Scholarship
Ilana Gorberg – Council Rock High School South
Attending Drexel University - $1,000 TMA Bucks Foundation Scholarship
Olivia Schuler – Conwell Egan Catholic
Attending Drexel University - $1,500 TMA Bucks Foundation William Rickett Scholarship
Sabrina Vincente – Council Rock High School South
Attending York College of PA - $2,000 TMA Bucks Foundation Joseph DiGirolamo Scholarship
Matthew Ziegler – Bucks County Technical High School
Attending Penn State University Park
Following the scholarship presentations the TMA was excited to present Levittown resident Sharon Rearick of Sidewalks Are For Everyone with a Community Service Award. Rearick was instrumental in her grass roots effort to bring sidewalks to New Falls Road. Sharon was also recognized by State Representative Tina Davis and Senator Tommy Tomlinson’s office.
The event concluded with our keynote speaker as SEPTA general manager and Bucks County resident Jeff Knueppel talked about some of the upcoming projects that will impact the transit system in Bucks County and beyond.
