TMA Bucks To Receive Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Funds To Enhance Traffic Safety Education In Bucks County

We are proud to announce we will receive $65,000 to enhance traffic safety education throughout Bucks County in grades K-8 by offering free assemblies and events featuring guest speakers on bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, and distracted driving to schools. The funding comes through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside program.

“We are thrilled to secure this safety funding that will ultimately bring top-notch speakers and dynamic presenters to our great school districts throughout Bucks County,” said TMA Bucks executive director Stephen Noll. “These funds will enhance our already strong commitment to making the Bucks County community safer for everyone through our Community Traffic Safety Program.”

We will administer these funds through our Community Traffic Safety Program.

The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) provides funding for projects and activities defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, trails that serve a transportation purpose, and safe routes to school projects. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), enacted as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), continues to fund the TA Set-Aside through 2026.
