Interstate 95 motorists will encounter single and double overnight lane closures are scheduled in both directions between the Academy Road and Route 332 (Newtown Yardley) interchanges on Monday, June 11, through Friday, June 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, for bridge deck repair, patching and paving operations as part of a project to repair and resurface 13 miles of I-95 in Bensalem, Bristol, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County.
The work schedule is as follows says PennDOT:
- Double lane closures will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges.
- Double lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 413 (Bristol) and Route 132 (Street Road) interchanges; and
- A single right lane closure will be in place on southbound I-95 between the Route 332 (Newtown Yardley) and Route 413 (Bristol) interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling, overlaying and rehabilitating existing pavement; performing base repairs; installing new guide rail; repairing or replacing damaged traffic signs; performing minor bridge deck repairs; and installing rumble strips and delineators along the I-95 corridor in Bucks County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
