If you’re a business owner, government or community organization in Pennsylvania and want to transition from older diesel vehicles to cleaner fuel vehicles, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has good news!
Four funding programs are open for applications now to support your switch to new engine technologies such as electric, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, and clean diesel. These cleaner technologies can significantly reduce pollutants from freight and delivery trucks, transit buses, school buses, and other vehicles and transportation related equipment.
Older diesel engines generate over 25 percent of the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) pollution in Pennsylvania. Launched under the Wolf Administration, the Driving PA Forward funding program supports the permanent reduction of NOx emissions statewide. Funding comes from Pennsylvania’s share of a national settlement with Volkswagen Group of America for cheating on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions tests.
