PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | July 17th, 2019

PennDOT District 6 has announced that beginning Monday, July 29, through early September, the bridge carrying South Sugan Road over Aquetong Creek will be closed and detoured between West Mechanic Road and Stoney Hill Road in New Hope Borough, Bucks County.

During the closure, South Sugan Road motorists will be detoured over U.S. 202 (Lower York Road), Aquetong Road and Stoney Hill Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

PennDOT’s contractor will rehabilitate the structure over Aquetong Creek by adding concrete overlay to the bridge deck; performing concrete substructure repairs; replacing and resealing the bridge deck joints; installing scour rock protection; and milling and paving the roadway.

Built in 1973, the single-span bridge is 49 feet long and 38 feet wide. It carries an average of 813 vehicles a day.
