U.S. 1 South Lane Closure Scheduled For Overhead Bridge Inspection Following A Crash

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | October 11th, 2017

PennDOT says the right lane is scheduled to close on southbound U.S. 1 between Interstate 95 and Stony Hill Road in Falls, Middletown and Lower Makefield townships, Bucks County on Wednesday, October 11 from 9:00 AM for 3:00 PM for a bridge inspection on the structure carrying Oxford Valley Road over U.S. 1.

The closure is necessary following damage sustained to a beam during a large vehicle crash. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work zones because slowdowns will occur. The work schedule is weather dependent.

The three-span, steel-I beam bridge, which was built in 1972, had reopened in August following a nine-month rehabilitation project to repair damage sustained during a June 2015 crash.
