SEPTA Market/ Frankford Line Service Update

Transit News | February 7th, 2017

SEPTA has announced that a crack in a body bolster (a main load carrying structural beam) was uncovered recently on one Market Frankford Line car undergoing a scheduled vehicle overhaul. Subsequent inspections revealed an additional car with a crack. In the interest of safety, SEPTA took a proactive measure to temporarily pull from service some of the fleet that have indications of a crack. All Market Frankford Line trains currently in service and those that will be in operation have been inspected.

Having taken this step, adjustments to Market Frankford Line service were made beginning with Monday, February 6, 2017.
