Lower Makefield Township Police Department says that after completing a sight inspection and in consultation with the Lower Makefield Township engineers, it has been determined that there is currently insufficient sight and stopping distance at the intersection of Edgewood and Sandy Run Road. For the time being Sandy Run Ridge Road will be closed between Reading Avenue and Edgewood Road.
Engineers are expediting a proposal to correct this condition. The duration of the closure is undetermined at this time.
The detour is as follows:
Sandy Run Rd will be closed from Reading Ave to Edgewood Rd. Only local residents living in the closed section and local deliveries will be permitted. Motorists on Edgewood Road will use Schuyler Drive and then proceed to Afton Ave and then to Sandy Run Road. From Reading/Fairway Ave., motorists will use Sandy Run to Afton Rd then Schuyler Drive to Edgewood Road.
