PennDOT To Begin Rehabilitation Of Bristol Road Bridge In Chalfont Borough & New Britain Township

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | June 18th, 2020

PennDOT District 6 says construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 29 to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Bristol Road over Neshaminy Creek in Chalfont Borough and New Britain Township.

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, and relevant training.

Due to the nature of construction, Bristol Road will be closed and detoured 24/7 between Janton Way and Upper State Road beginning Monday, June 29, through the completion of the project scheduled for late-August.

During the bridge closure, Bristol Road motorists will be directed to use East Butler Avenue, Route 152 (South Limekiln Pike), and U.S. 202 North. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

PennDOT’s contractor will rehabilitate the structure over Neshaminy Creek by repairing joints at both piers; performing hydro scarification of bridge deck and latex modified concrete surface repairs; milling and paving at both approaches; and placing pavement markings on the new bridge deck and roadway.
