PennDOT Reopens Thatcher Road Bridge Over Kimples Creek In Haycock Township

PennDOT News, Road Work Updates | June 8th, 2018

PennDOT has reopened the bridge carrying Thatcher Road over Kimples Creek in Haycock Township, Bucks County following a three-week rehabilitation project.

PennDOT’s contractor rehabilitated the bridge by repairing the existing concrete bridge deck using hydro demolition and applying a latex modified concrete overlay; resealing the existing deck joints at the abutments; performing concrete repairs to the substructure; replacing bridge railing; installing guiderail; and milling and paving the bridge approaches.

The Thatcher Road bridge over Kimples Creek was built in 1972. The one-span, prestressed concrete spread box beam bridge is 55 feet long, 48 feet wide and carries an average of 996 vehicles a day.
