Newtown Township Police Department and Newtown Borough Police Department have announced traffic advisories in advance of the “Shamrock Shuffle 5K event” on Saturday, March 17.
Newtown Township Police says there will be no parking signs posted on North Sycamore Street from Durham Road to Jefferson Street for the hours of the event. The actual 5K is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the starting and ending location to be on North Sycamore Street near Silo Drive.
Approximate times for road closures in the township:
- (7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.) North Sycamore Street will be closed at Durham Road and Jefferson Street. Silo Drive to Sycamore Street will already be closed due to the Green Parrot’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
- (8:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.) North Sycamore Street will be closed from Washington Avenue to Jefferson Street.
Newtown Borough Police says temporary road closures in the borough will start at 8:45 a.m.
- North State Street (Washington Avenue – Edgeboro Drive)
- Greene Street (North State Street – North Congress Street)
- Edgeboro Drive (North State Street – Linton Hill Road)
- Frost Lane (Edgeboro Drive – North Lincoln Avenue)
- Jefferson Street (North Sycamore – North Lincoln)
- Liberty Street (Washington Avenue – Jefferson Street)
- North Congress Street (Washington Avenue – Frost Lane)
- North Chancellor Street (Washington Avenue – Frost Lane)
- Federal Lane
- North Sycamore Street (Newtown Township) Road Closure time will be earlier for setup on this street.
