The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced PA Route 32/River Road beneath the Scudder Falls Bridge is scheduled to be closed to all traffic during weekday daytime hours beginning Wednesday, October 3.
The closures are needed to allow for the lifting and installation of 10-foot-high steel girders between recently completed support piers for the new replacement bridge’s upstream span.
The small section of Route 32/River Road will be closed to traffic 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays Wednesday, October 3, to Friday, October 5, and through the following week.
Detours will be posted for affected motorists, directing them around the construction zone. The detours will involve East Afton Avenue/PA Route 332 (Yardley), Mt. Eyre Road (Upper Makefield/Lower Makefield), Woodside Road (Lower Makefield) and Taylorsville Road. Route 32/River Road will remain accessible to residents living along the roadway at all times.
